1934 Rolls-Royce 20/25 H.P. Barker Replica Barrel Sided Ash Framed Aluminium Covered Dual Cowl Open Tourer with Coachwork by Wildae Restorations. Total Concours Rebuild, Thousands Spent.

Buttermilk Cream Coachwork and Spoked Wheels and Brown Chassis with Brown Leather Seats.
Registration Number EL 1317, Chassis Number GAF 61, Engine Number W3Y, Registered 1st December 1934.

This lovely well made Barrel Sided replica body is unique in that it is very spacious and can seat 5 people in comfort. Tall or well built people can easily drive this as the front seat is fixed well back and also smaller people will find it comfortable as one sits up high above the steering wheel, the original bodies were the opposite as they were designed for short lightweight drivers, the rear offers plenty of leg room and spare room for storage in front of ones feet as well as under the front seat and in the external trunk which is also included. The rare Kneeling Spirit of Ecstasy Mascot with built in pressure release valve is included as well as the very rare Royal British Legion Car Badge, Leather Gaiters cover the springs. The height and length makes this a very imposing motor car, especially with the twin side mounted spare spoked wheels and upright split windscreen. This has to be one of the best small horsepower Rolls tourers in existence which shows the quality of the body design and construction by Wildae restorations, we have a number of their restoration invoices on file.

A very rare usable rebuilt 20/25 in excellent condition, it still retains the original straight six engine which starts on the button and sounds lovely, showing very good oil pressure and cool water temperature of around 70 degrees at 50 m.p.h., the 4 speed manual gearbox has syncromesh on 2nd to 4th and has a lovely precise change. If this was an original tourer it would be twice as expensive and a Silver Ghost would be 4 times as expensive, this is an ideal way of gaining entry to the prestigious 20 Ghost Club. A stainless steel exhaust has been fitted as well a new cylinder head.

This 20/25 Horsepower was first owned by Mrs H. Chapman and was originally bodied by Thrupp & Maberly as a Limousine, it is believed to have been used in the Second World War. The present owner purchased it in March 2010 and it has been used very sparingly in dry conditions with the roof down, the odometer reads 8,776 miles, when M.O.T. tested in 2009 it read 5,330 miles. It was last M.O.T. tested in 2012 at 7,102 miles and is now Tax and M.O.T. Exempt.

Due to the low mainly dry mileage since the total rebuild everything is still in close to Concours condition, all the doors close with precision and everything works including the one shot central lubrication system. The only real improvements would be to refinish the wooden dashboard and varnish the hood irons. If one planned on using this Tourer in adverse weather some side screens would be a useful addition as well as a rear Auster screen. For urban and touring road use it would be advisable to add a LED indicator system into the existing lighting.

This Motor Car can be viewed by prior appointment at the owners property near Spalding, Lincolnshire, with good access from the A1 Road and the London to Edinburgh Mainline Railway. It has been enthusiast owned and is kept alongside his large classic car collection.

Price £52,500 o.n.o.
