MGB ROADSTER STUNNING CHROME BUMPER 1977 restored.
Hi this is my 1977 mgb roadster, I have owned it for three years and in that time I have carried out a major restoration on the car include the following
Back to bare metal respray ( Belize green )
New middle and outer sills
New jacking points
New castle/ chassis rails
New quarter panels rear
Two new doors
Whole new interior , carpets , sound insulation, all cards, rebuild seats including resprayed frames and new foams and covers
New instrument bezels glass and rubbers
New fitted gas struts under bonnet to keep open without prop
New window rubbers
New coil and electric ignition
New aluminium rocket cover
New mohair hood and new frame with zip down rear window
It has been fitted with a recondition 70s radio
New old stock 70s sharp speakers
New stainless steel window wipers
Wheels were stripped back to metal and powder coated
This is just some of the work I have carried out, about 7 years ago the car under went another restoration which was when it was converted to chrome bumper
This lot has cost more than I am asking for the car
Has been converted to run on unleaded
I have original bill of sale plus a folder of paper work
Mileage is about 94000 but rebuild engine gear box with overdrive, new suspension and running gear has covered very few miles.plus full body and interior it's one of the best I have seen . ( but I would say that)
When I have taken it to a few local shows it always pulls a crowd and compliments on the condition
Comes with a half tonneau cover pluse a full original tonneau cover , but is currently missing the support bars for the full cover these can be purchased from most mg specialist for about £50.
Forgot to mention the quarter lite windows have been refurbished including new rubbers and repolished
Also when carrying out the restoration the whole car had lots of waxoil pump into it so should hold back the rust for many years to come.
This MG B was originally supplied by Wadham Stringer, Tavistock Road, Plymouth to its first owner a Mr C Fletcher. In the previous ownership the MG has been the subject of a full body and mechanical rebuild by Wincanton Motorsport at a cost of over £10,000. During the restoration the decision was taken to convert the roadster to full chrome bumper specification, with lowered suspension ride height, chrome bumpers front and rear and chrome radiator grille. There is a history file accompanying the car with receipts for the restoration, historical receipts, past MOTs, the original Passport to Service, Supercover dealer supplied wallet and sundry paperwork. V5C
I could go on for ages about the car but ithink if you are interested a viewing would be advised. The only reason I am selling is I want to start a new restoration on an older Morris or sunbeam and have limited garage space . The car is registered as an historic vehicle so doesn't require an mot or road tax although I will put a new mot before sale completed.
I may consider a part exchange or swap, although I am looking for a car from anywhere from 1920 to 1970 . Would not be interested in a Morris minor, mini, or any large American car . Please contact me if you have anything interesting. Ideally would like a sunbeam rapier or alpine or Morris cowley bullnose or flat nose.
Please note this is a private sale and will only accept cash or bank transfers as PayPal fees are to high. This is also Collection only no delivery is offered. If you wish the car to be collected on your behalf payments must be cleared and authorised,
new upto date photos at the weekend I have just uploaded new photos taken today 17/08/19 I have a few other photos of different stages of the restoration tha are available on request. Please no silly low offers as I am in no hurry to sell The car is stored in a dry temperature controlled garage away from my home so viewing is by appointment only. Plus it does not go out in the wet .
The car is based just out side of bognor regis in west Sussex
