This correct, very well-presented Rover P5B Saloon was built on the 8th February 1968 and supplied new by Mortons Limited, Coventry and registered with the Warwickshire registration mark LVC 789F. The Rover left the factory in Admiralty Blue, Rostyle Wheels and Automatic transmission.

LVC 789F is a car we know quite well having first owned the car six years ago. The Rover had enjoyed around 3000 miles in early 2013 and when we purchased the car later that year, we drove the car over 200 faultless miles back from Essex. The car performed superbly, holding correct oil pressure and temperature, proving to be a relaxed long distance cruiser. The car had come to us having recently had new suspension bushes, engine tune and brand new interior.

We quickly sold the Rover to a customer of ours in Anglesey, North Wales and our preparation included new track rod ends, new shock absorbers, stripping, cleaning and adjusting the brakes, replacing coolant, engine, gearbox and differential oil and replacing spark plugs. The Rover was in regular use between 2013 and 2016 but was then laid up off the road until 2018.

The Rover came back to us in late 2018 and needed re-commissioning work having spent several years off the road. We spent in the region of £6,000 on the Rover to include removing and rebuilding the gearbox, fitting a new oil cooler and treating the braking system to a new servo, new rear wheel cylinders, new brake shoes, new flexi hoses and front brake pads. The Rover has also had a new alternator, lighting switch, wiper switch, rebuilt carburettors and new rear lights.

The Rover now comes back to us from one of our regular customers in Wiltshire. The car is nicely fettled having had a period off the road and over the Spring and Summer has had regular use and attended several shows. Our P5B drives superbly, the ever strong V8 engine performs tremendously well and the relatively recent rebuilt gearbox changes up and down the gearbox nicely. The power steering is effortless, the brakes and suspension correct and having been recently owned by a retired electric engineer, electrics work and are in fine order. The Admiralty Blue paintwork retains a good quality, deep shine, the bodywork is of a very good standard and the under carriage in excellent. The chrome work is bright and presentable and having been re-trimmed several years back, the upholstery is very impressive offering a high quality, luxury feel. LVC 789F is an excellent value, very good quality 1960's Saloon that is ideal for regular use and long distance touring and is ready to enjoy.
