This has been a labour of love and we have enjoyed the best part of a thousand miles of fabulous fun in it this Summer.
This Land Rover has had a huge of amount of work and money spent on it since coming out of hibernation. Firstly, I’m not technically minded at all, so the work has been carried out by professional specialists. Mechanically, all the the brakes are new including new brake pipes etc, there is a brand new fuel tank, line and lift pump, new distributor, ignition components and Webber carburettor, new dynamo and water pump. The electrics have all been gone through too. All of the oils have been replaced. Bodywork wise, the floors in the cab and in the rear tub are all new and in slightly thicker aluminium for longevity and strength and the tub floor supports were also replaced at the same time - this alone was a very expensive job. It also has quality new door tops and bottoms and deep side sills. A new hood has also been fitted. It has been painted this May in original Marine Blue colour by a highly respected and professional local paint shop at a very considerable cost! It also sits on 4 near new original size SWB tyres and carries a spare on the bonnet that is brand new. I deliberately left the dash and some of the cab fittings as there were for authenticity and likewise under the bonnet as I personally didn’t want that all over new look - they could easily be detailed though if that is your preference but i liked some components to show their age.
I think most importantly is the fact that the mechanical work was carried out by respected Land Rover specialists with years and years of experience on working with these vehicles and I am more than confident in the work carried out by them - I think they probably checked just about every nut and bolt when they were going through it ! The previous owner had fitted a rear chassis and I think a couple of out riggers and the chassis is solid and has recently been enamel painted for preservation.
Serious enquiries only please, I am happy to discuss the work in more detail and let you to talk to the specialist directly for peace of mind - this is a beauty both to look at and drive! Also has new galvanised frame bench seats in rear and thick rubber matting to the floors. Also comes with the original hard top it wanted.
1976, mot and tax exempt. Recently had a bit of tic, new seats, some paintwork, brake, fuel pump etc. Runs and drives well, and everything works ... smokes a bit on start up but ok when warm. Chassis.....
