This is a lovely MGB GT which has been extensively maintained and repaired as necessary over its 39 year life, all of which has been spent in Sussex. The car is largely unmodified, retaining its original engine which had a replacement unleaded cylinder head fitted some years ago. It was supplied new with a fabric folding sunroof, which has been replaced at some point and is in perfect condition, probably the most desirable addition to standard GT specification and rarely found. The original "deck chair" striped upholstery has been replaced with correct fabric cloth of a pattern used in a slightly earlier model when the interior was replaced some years ago. The seats have also been rebuilt as they are firm and very comfortable! An attractive Moto Lita leather and alloy steeering wheel is also fitted.
There is an extensive history file which includes the original sales invoice, Passport to Service booklet, Protectol rustproofing certificate, details of all previous owners, loads of detailed service and parts invoices and, perhaps most importantly of all, every single MOT certificate which completely confirms the current mileage of 77000.
The car is in excellent condition throughout, structurally and mechanically sound with very good bodywork and a lovely interior. It drives really well and the overdrive operates perfectly.
I have owned many MGs over the years and I can confidently say that this is the best rubber bumper GT that I have driven. It's ready to be used and enjoyed immediately.
The current, advisory free, MOT is valid until June 2020, and the car is HPI clear.
There are many MGB GTs on the market, but I'm confident that you won't find a better one at this price!
