The 280 fuel-injected engine was the last and the highest powered of the range to carry these iconic SL ‘Super-Leicht’ Cabriolets which super-seeded the iconic 300SL Gullwing and Roadsters. Launched in November 1967 our stunning 280 SL example was built two years later in ’69’. It was delivered new to the United States where DD Classics acquired this iconic car. Upon crossing the Atlantic the car has undergone a significant amount of refurbishment. This example has benefitted from fitment of correct OEM specification carpets, woodwork removed and fully refurbished and brand new mohair front top. Upon return to our own in house workshop the SL underwent a huge amount of attention to detail and fitment of new dampers. The final finish has now been completed and the car stands proudly on its whitewall tyres, only awaiting its new owner.
The SL Pagoda series has always been a very popular car, with its low wide handsome proportions to its styling features. With the ‘Pagoda’ hardtop fitted the car looks outstanding and with its lid off, the SL is superbly proportioned. fitted with disc brakes, power steering and fuel injection these cars are effortless to drive and have stood the test of time.
Beautiful examples such as this are extremely sought after and hard to find, look no further….
