1971 Rover P5b coupe+restored+4 owners+drives superbly For Sale
NOW RESERVED FOR NEW OWNER - ALL OTHER INTERESTING & CLASSIC CARS WANTED - OUTRIGHT PURCHASE OR CONSIGNMENT SALE
Motodrome are pleased to offer this 1971 example of the stately Rover P5b Coupe, finished in arguably the best colour scheme of Admiralty Blue with Silver Birch roof, and buckskin leather.
All P5B’s, with the Rover V8 motor, automatic transmission, PAS, and decent brakes, are supremely useable for a classic, and this one has also been fitted with electronic ignition, stainless exhaust, and electric fuel pump.
History-wise this one only seems to have had 3 previous owners from new, including just 2 owners up to 2013. The owner 1988-2013 commissioned a body restoration back to the monocoque around 7000 miles ago, (of which there is an album of photographs) including new inner and outer sills among the other usual P5b afflictions. It also underwent an engine rebuild around the same time. I estimate it’s covered around 6000 to 7000 miles since.
Apart from the restoration photograph album and bills, we have a host of other invoices, old MOT’s back to 1978, and original sales documents including it’s original ‘passport to service’
It has an odometer reading of 2000 miles (presumably 102000 miles which tallies with the history we hold) , and, whilst it qualifies for MOT exemption, it has a current MOT to March 2020, with no advisories. It also qualifies for free (historic) road tax
Interior-wise it’s rather lovely (and yes, the toolkit is in place) , and it drives absolutely superbly. Following it’s post-restoration repaint there is now some paint microblistering (especially on the OSR door and front scuttle panels) but it doesn’t overly detract in my opinion.
Also comes with a quantity of spares, and several bound volumes of P5 owners club magazines.
My favourite of all our current stock!
