1955 Triumph TR2 Ex-Works Le Mans For Sale

1955 Triumph TR2

Ex-Factory Le Mans Development car

As detailed in Bill Piggott's book - Triumph by Name, Triumph by Nature

One of four cars with consecutive numbers registered in early 1955.
PKV 373 - PKV 374 - PKV 375 - PKV 376

PKV 374, PKV 375, and PKV 376 were the three cars which started the Le Mans race in 1955.

PKV373 was used for testing different permutations of Dunlop and Girling disc brakes and engine development.

This car is one of the four factory cars, but PKV 373 did not actually compete in the race.

This car has the original body and chassis.

It is VERY sound and in a decent running and driving condition.

Yes . . . . You could even drive it home ! ! ! !

Despite no actual period competition history in it's own right. This is an ex-factory spare or back-up car.

A perfect candidate for next year's Classic Le Mans - Mille Miglia - Etc. where I am sure an entry for this car will be favoured and very welcome.

I have owned this car for many years.

The previous owner also owned it for many years.
It has not been used or seen on the road since the 1980's.

Currently in dry storage at my home in Chelmsford, Essex.

Comes with UK registration document with the original registration number.

And comes with the original matching number engine.

Price is £85, 000

I don't mind if I keep the car or sell the car.

No offers - thank you.
