1960 VW T1 Double door Panel that has never been registered for the road. This is a Hannover produced Bus.
This bus has spent its life inside the perimeter of Airports its entire career.
The bus has been heavily modified with a GTC85-90 Auxiliary Power Unit installed. It was used to start commercial jet aircraft in the 1960's & 70's. The turbine does NOT power the bus, it is for starting Jet aircraft only. I have not tried to start the turbine nor the normal flat four since owing the bus.
The bus originally belonged to Lufthansa whom sold it to an airport in France where I purchased it in 2012. I loaned it back to Lufthansa for their museum in 2012 and it arrived back to me this year.
The bus is unrestored and needs a lot of TLC but is very solid with some manageable rust patches here and there. The drivers door upper hinge needs replacing.
I never intended to sell the bus we christened Marcel but, I need the space and one of the cars has to go and he is going.
I can take any additional photos required as the ones below are not great.
The advertised number is my office line so please leave a VM and I will get back to you.
