The Classic Car Company is delighted to offer another of these cracking little Fiat 500Ds.
Fiat produced their iconic 'suicide door' 500 D from 1960 - 1965. This was also available with the 'Transformable roof' which folds all the way back down to the engine bay.
This combination of fully convertible roof and suicide doors is rare now, and has become the most collectable version of the 500.
This particular example was built in 1961, and first delivered to Italy. The car was totally restored this year, with the following work was carried out:
- Full, glass out, re-spray in correct Fiat white (214 Avorio)
- Rebuilt 499cc engine and gearbox
- Underside stripped and protected
- Rebuilt Brakes and Running gear
- Rebuilt electrics and dynamo
- New interior
- New roof
The car has covered around 250 KMs since the restoration, so the new owner will have to run the car in gently.
A chance to own an appreciating classic that brings a smile to whoever comes into contact with it!
The Fiat 500 was produced between 1957 and 1975 with limited production of the Fiat 500K estate continuing until 1977. It was designed by Dante Giacosa and, despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved.....
