My Wolseley 6/80 Reg NEL 362 was built between 19th & 21st May 1953 and was delivered to Edwards &Company Ltd Bournemouth on 8th June 1953. It was registered to a Miss Predger of Bournemouth on 22nd. June1953 and had four other owners in Dorset area before it came to Norfolk in 1971 after which it was taken off the road in 1972 until I purchase it in 1988 with mileage reading 60815 which is believed to be correct.
I carried out a nut &bolt restoration which I completed in 2002 and the car has been used on a regular basis since and drives extremely well the mileage is 76100. The car is black with brown leather interior, new carpets from Coverdale, new exhaust earlier this year and has a Dixon & Bate tow bar(never used) Nearly all the chrome has been replaced.
Seat belts have been fitted along with flashing indicators, electric radiator fan and radio. The car is in excellent condition with good radial tyres.
Although an MOT is not required the car passed on 15 th August 2019
I have a comprehensive history file including photographs of work carried out on the restoration, all MOT’s since 2002, Heritage Certificate and original log book with list of previous owners.
This model was used by the police in the 50,mainly in the London area and there are only approximately 30 Wolseley 6/80 left in uk.
My car has won many ‘Best in show’ awards at classic vehicle events in Norfolk and has given my wife and I much pleasure driving many miles.
