1978 Mercedes 450SL R107
MOT & Tax Exempt
It looks absolutely gorgeous in midnight blue with the cream interior.
The 4.5l V8 sounds absolutely exquisite and runs like a dream. The gearbox is as smooth as you can imagine.
It’s covered 140k.
It’s benefitted from:
* A brand new soft top
* Discs and pads all round
* New fuel filter
* Oil filter and oil
* X4 Brand new tyres
* New boot seal
The bodywork is very straight and the lines are perfect. I would say it had a full body restoration 10+ years ago, but still shines up very nicely. It does have signs of wear commensurate with age - blister on the O/S front wing just above the light, a small scratch on the back N/S corner and a couple of other marks.
The interior is in reasonable condition considering it is original. The door cards are good and the seats are fair, but could do with colonising. The carpets are clean, but bear in mind they are original.
It is a very good, usable example that has had a lot of money spent on it in the last couple of months as well as over the years. It has also been wax oiled everywhere and fairly recently.
What’s left to do?
It does require the heating hooking back up and fixing back to the console, a carpet set for the boot, the wipers are intermittent, needs a couple of bulbs (likely to be done) but, all in all is a very nice car. Odometer went still and I’m not brave enough to take the cluster out to find out why.
Great examples are fetching north of £15k+ and concourse models £35k+.
It has been priced allowing room to improve as you go so please no offers unless they are very close if not identical to the asking price.
I can help arrange delivery in the UK with a great company I’ve used.
