1955 Standard 8 - Genuine 17000 miles from new For Sale
The car is in beautiful condition and has lots of lovely documentation, including the original sales invoice.
As always it is very hard to be 100% sure on mileage, but I'm fairly sure with this car. It was purchased by a Mr A Oliphant in 1955, and he stilled owned the car in 1974, and we believe he passed it onto his son sometime between then and 1990, when it was advertised for sale as part of an estate clearance, the mileage is mentioned in the sale details.
We then have a number of MOTs
1976 15906 miles
My father only purchased the car 13 months ago. Since he has had:
- new SS exhaust
- rear sill and inner wheel arch repair
- all new hoses
- new water pump
- service (oil, brake fluid and cooling water)
- o/s rear brake cylinder
- Dinotrol underseal
- new horn button, air vent controls and headlight bulbs
As you will see from the pictures the biggest problem that I can see is that the headlining is stained, and could do with replacing.
The car is stored under a cover in a dry shed.
Please call me to discuss viewing the car, I should be able to help with more details, really sad to see it go.
