In 1964 Sunbeam built three special aluminum bodied Tigers to take part at the 24h of LeMans. The little streamlined Coupes were engined by a 260ci Ford V8 delivered by Shelby. The cars failed and did not finish the race.

After the 64 season the race driver and mechanic Bernard Unett bought one of the three cars and modified it for the british GT championship. The car got a 289 Ford V8 with Weber carburetors, big Girling race brakes (same as the Cobras), and several suspension modification. With lots of 1st and top5 places, Unett was almost able to win the 65 season but a broken fan belt in the last race prevented the success.

We now offering a recreation of this very little historied race car.

As Sunbeam did it in 1964, also we take a 1963/64 Sunbeam alpine project body to convert it into the streamlined coupe by building the aluminum body panels. We form the panels over an wooden egg crate with english wheel, etc.
The car gets fully assembled in our shop which is the only one in Germany which is fully specialised in historic v8 powered race cars.
After two Daytona Coupes built, we are currently building such a Tiger for a client.

With this add you have the opportunity to order your own car.
