1937 Delahaye 135M Biplace course reconstruction par Blasque For Sale by Auction

For sale in our forthcoming auction in Paris, on 27 october 2019 French title Chassis No 26809 Engine No 801438 - Meticulous creation - Mesmerising engineering - Accessible legend This Delahaye was manufactured in 1983 by Blasquez, restoration specialist in Perpignan. Based on a shortened saloon chassis, he built a lovely bodywork in aluminium similar to 135 versions that raced the Le Mans 24 Hours. The title mentioned a Delahaye 135, but the serial number does not match with a number of the brand. The engine is a 5S103 version linked to a Cotal electromagnetic gearbox. Bought in 1985 by an enthusiast from Toulouse, it will then be acquired by a wise collector from Allier in 1997 who in his turn will sell the car to its current owner in 2000. The latter went on to participate in many far-away rallies, achieving almost 35,000 km, hence why the car is well-known by many connoisseurs. It was repainted in the 2000s and the engine was completely restored in 2006. The Cotal gearbox will need to be looked at, as only the 2nd and 4th gear shifts are working. We recommend a general overhaul including the replacement of the clutch case and repair of the exhaust manifold. A road test alongside the owner revealed that the car is in good working order overall, complemented with its engine roaring and brutal sound: We were indeed in a racing car from the 1930s! This dream is now accessible thanks to the quality of this replica and for an amount which would not permit to build an identical version of this one today. Auction estimate: €80 000 / 120 000 To see all the pictures available:
