Seven Opal Two Seater Tourer 1935
Advert Text: My 1935 Austin Seven Chrome Rad Opal APD Tourer is offered for sale as three Austin Sevens are too many for me to exercise thoroughly.
I purchased this car from a deceased estate in 2017. I had previously procured the car, about 6 months earlier from near Machynlleth for the last owner.
This car was first registered north of Inverness at Dingwall.
It came with a professionally overhauled engine by Quarry Engineering of Leominster. New pistons, new liners. Flywheel and clutch overhauled. Oversized inlet valves. Initially the enigne it had noisy timing gears and poor performance.
As a result the engine had been removed to remedy a clutch problem, which was a loose allen screw on a clutch toggle lever. timing gears replaced and replacement piston rings. As the engine had probably only travelled 1000 miles since rebuild it can be assumed that there had been running in problems with the rings. All is well now.
It has a 12 volt electrical system with a dynamator and electronic ignition.
The engine is a later three bearing one.
Other than that the car is nicely original.
This car took part in the Hereford Austin Seven Club trip to Cumbria on 2018. No troubles were experienced during that run. Many hills traversed with ease including a visit to the Tan Hill Inn, Britain’s highest pub.
A very pretty 7, in nicely restored condition.
Goes, stops and handles very well.
A go anywhere little vintage Austin.
Has VSCC "Buff Form", will need re-applying for.
Good history file.
