After much consideration I have regrettably decided to part with my much coveted ‘keeper’ 1999 Gen 1 Hayabusa in the rare and sought after Copper and Ecru Silver. You either love this colour combination or hate it (This is my second!)
Though built in 1999, it was registered on 1st January 2000 and so it is on a ‘V’ Registration plate.
I have had four Hayabusa’s, this being my third, and still have my Gen 2 which I tend to use most of the time to keep the miles off this one. It’s all very well have a cherished keeper but they still have to have some use and I’m rarely using it.
I took over a year to find the right one and this was purchased in 2014 with a total of 3250 miles on it. It now has somewhere over 17000 miles on it and has never let me down, and completed two trips to the Picos de Europa in its time with me.
The bike has some sensible additions to it, but also comes with all the original standard parts and so it can quite easily be returned to stock. Fitted with Main Stand from new. (Have a correct Sharks Fin if you want to remove the main stand but they’re so handy)
The bike has been well looked after both during and prior to my ownership as the condition shows and oil and oil filter have been changed every 2500 miles. Last year I also put in new Iridium spark plugs, replaced all filters in the fuel pump and replaced the fuel supply lines.
New front wheel bearings fitted this year.
Various bolts have been changed to Titanium or Stainless.
The front brake callipers have been changed to the Two Pot Nissin Callipers with EBC Double H pads. (Original and good condition Tokico 3 pot Callipers
Front brake lines have been changed to Venhill Braided lines, separate line to each calliper.
Front forks are currently Gold ones from a 2006 K6 model and the original excellent condition ones will be supplied (require fork seals replacing)
Double Bubble Screen (original supplied)
Rear Hugger (original chain guard supplied)
Shorty Brake and Clutch Levers fitted (originals supplied)
20mm Bar Risers (original bolts supplied to change to stock)
‘Road-Lok’ Disc Lock fitted to rear spindle (original spacer supplied)
‘Dominator’ twin exhausts fitted last year (one tiny ding on one) original good exhausts supplied.
Michelin Road 5’s fitted front and rear last year with only a few hundred miles on them. Also fitted with 90 degree Triumph valves.
Rear Seat, Grab Rail & 2 original colour coded humps (one with cut outs to fit over grab rail)
Givi Rack with Givi Top Box
Double USB socket fitted in right side fairing infill (original supplied plus a spare left hand infill as I bought a pair)
Bagster Tank colour coded protector (old so it’s a bit faded but handy if you fit a Baglux Tank Bag).
Spare pair of Rear Indicators.
Spare pair of Front Clear Indicators
That’s probably about it! Too good to sell really, I’m regretting it already. Looking for a good home with a Hayabusa enthusiast. Not interested in splitting this lot. I will put 12 months MOT on it next week.
Viewings welcome, further photo’s supplied on request.
Cash or Bank Transfer.
