Launched in March 1972, the Granada succeeded the British Ford Zephyr, and the German P7-series as Ford's European executive car offering, and completed the integration of Ford's British and German model ranges. The car was available as a four-door saloon, a five-door estate and the highly desirable two door fastback coupé – only available in 3.0 Ghia trim in the UK.
Milestone Classics are delighted to offer arguably the best 3.0 Ghia Coupe in the UK. The car was purchased by the previous owner, Roy Barber, in 1990. Roy commenced a painstaking refurbishment to concours standard and the car has simply been winning prizes ever since.
The Granada is better than when she left the factory. The Stratos Silver paintwork is unblemished, the black vinyl roof with factory sunroof perfect and original polished alloys complete the look – just breath taking….
The interior does not disappoint. The black velour/wood trim is like new with excellent carpets, roof-lining and dash-top. Sitting behind the wheel is like stepping back to a 1977 episode of The Sweeney
Lift the bonnet or look under the car and Roy’s hard work and eye for detail are evident again. Everything is painted, powder-coated or chromed and looks one year old.
Mechanically all bushes, brakes and tyres were recently overhauled/replaced and the car starts and drives as good as she looks….utterly remarkable.
The Granada comes with lots of cups/medals won by Roy – she has dominated the club events and competitions he entered for many years – and is ready to be shown, used and enjoyed by the lucky new owner.
