1977 Jeep CJ7 258 c.i. (4.2 L) Auto with AWD RHD For Sale
This is an extremely rare RHD version of the CJ7 model - VIN number verified. This one-owner car was part of an imported batch to South Africa.
The car has removable Hardtop and steel removable Doors. As can be seen she is also fitted with a roll-bar thats padded - this fits snugly under the removable Hardtop when its in use. This CJ7 does NOT have a Bikini or Full Weather Soft-Top and flexible doors.
The tailgate has a functioning "swing-arm" Spare Wheel carrier. The front Bumper has a HD Winch fitted, hooks, and and an A-Frame for towing to the point of use if thats part of your requirement.
This car is genuine example - meaning STEEL body, not a fibre-glass replica replacement. The car is reported to have no body or structural rust whatsoever.
The engine is still the original 258 c.i. (4.2 L) Straight Six Jeep Motor combined with the column-shift Automatic transmission combined with a part-time two speed transfer case for 4WD application. Let me be clear; this is not the 304 c.i (5.0 L) AMC V8 nor is the factory optional QuadraTrac AWD system fitted.
However, in my humble opinion having driven the Jeep 4.0 L Six for an extended period it has plenty of grunt - and is definitely less thirsty than a V8 lump, furthermore if you are doing serious off-roading and the terrain gets "awkward" you are going to need to scout your best line and options so the QuadraTrac is just a nice to have convenience.
This vehicle will be gone over with a close inspection and major service by a superb Off-Road Vehicle Workshop before shipping, anything out of kilter will be attended to and ensure an UK MoT Pass without advisories. The cost of this is absorbed within the purchase price already.
This is not a "Bling" example, the UK or Australian Buyer can has a blank canvas. Fit your own suspension, hi-lift, chrome accessories and fat wheels & tyres combo in the UK according to your budget and avoid the higher cost of USA import to SA of these items... but I can have all done per your choice from any website if you want.
Finally, I can provide a full rub-down and respray in any colour choice if you dont like RED. Lets talk and thanks for looking. The UK number advertised has the International dialling prefix but its still a local call from the UK.
This CJ7 reflects a genuine sub 46,000 KLM odometer reading (less than 28,600 MILES). Until recently she was a one-owner car, used for campimg outings and in earlier years for fresh-water ramp launching / retrieval of a speed boat for water ski purposes. He passed away leaving the CJ7 to his son, but its hardly been driven in the past 2-years and simply standing at a holiday home - hence the inclusion of a comprehensive major service as described earlier.
The purchase price of £16,600 includes everything to deliver to port, export docs., insurance In-Transit, container ship, UK arrival charges, collection charge, HMRC Import Tax and Inspection costs, MoT and DVLA and Black plates - the payment of these additional charges which are extensive can be split away from the purchase cost if required.
All you have to do is arrive and drive her home from Bury St. Edmunds.
The question is can you find a rust free CJ7 elsewhere, let alone a RHD version at a better price... well you know the answer to that. So dont delay, life is not a rehearsal!
Another from the specialist collection of Military themed vehicles we have been asked to market for the owners. This 1995 Jeep has had a massive amount of money spent on its modifications not least.....
