At its world premiere at the IAA in 1951, the large BMW was still outshined by the simultaneously presented Mercedes 300. But when the car went into production a year later, it dominated the headlines of business pages and automobile magazines. In fact, this V8 triggered applause among the people. Self-confidence was required again and events such as the title win of the football World Cup in 1954 and the re-emergence of BMW and Mercedes-Benz in the international upper class corresponded to the spirit of the time.
Between 1961 and 1964 only 834 exemplars of the BMW 3200 S were produced.
This beautiful BMW V 8 of the last series with the strong 160 hp-engine was extensively restored 10 years ago by BMW specialists workshops according to available photo documentation. The car was continuously serviced by the company Feierabend in Würzburg.
The car impresses with its unique lines which has given the vehicle the nickname "Barockengel" and presents itself in a condition in which it is exceptionally rare to find.
