This very special car was supplied new by Wrights Motor Group in Boston,Lincolnshire to its 1st Owner, former "Father of the house" in the commons, Sir Peter Tapsell. Who owned the car until 12th May 2016.
Sir Peter Hannay Bailey Tapsell (1 February 1930 – 18 August 2018) was a British Conservative Party politician and Member of Parliament (MP) for Louth and Horncastle. He served in the House of Commons continuously from 1966 until 2015, and was also previously an MP from 1959 to 1964. He was Father of the House between 2010 and 2015.
He was a member of the London Stock Exchange from 1957 to 1990 and was for 30 years the International Partner of a leading firm of stockbrokers. He has visited more than 120 countries and has considerable knowledge of the Islamic world. He has advised many Governments and Central Banks on the management of international reserves, and is a member of the Business Advisory Council of the United Nations.
He was knighted in 1985. The Political Editors voted him The Spectator 'Backbencher of the Year' in 1993 and 'Parliamentarian of the Year' in 2004.
The car was then purchased by the last private local owner, who owned the car up until this year.
We then purchased the car direct from them.
We have the original sales invoice to Sir Peter Tapsell for the car, which also details the removal of the bonnet stripes when the car was new,as the 1st owner requested this.
