Here we have my 1972 rover p5b coupe in the best colour combination of admiralty blue with silver birch and the buckskin interior. It comes with 2 sets of keys, full tool kit, original jack and wheelbrace, original service record book and workshop manuals.
This is a non-restored car with a genuine 52,500 miles backed up with a wealth of old mot certificates dating back to 1975 and up to the present day.
The car has been in my ownership for 5 years and kept covered in a dehumidified garage. I have replaced the rear leaf springs, rear shock absorbers, automatic gearbox overhaul, steering box reconditioned and fitted electronic ignition plus the usual service items.
It has had 3 previous owners and was 1st registered by Dodson and Sons in Staines to Mr William Alsford, Hampton, Middlesex on the 14/6/1972 and has been garaged for the majority of its life.
A lot of the paint is original but has had a few bits done over the years and the roof was resprayed about 6 years ago when the garage door came down on it causing no real damage just a bad mark.
According to the previous Rover Owners Club owner of 31 years there were only 5 of these cars made in 1972 with electric sunroofs and this is 1 of them.
There are always jobs to do on classics so the next ones for the future on the list are front window winders have a certain amount of play in them, front door cards and pockets, front seats (just a few cracks as they are the originals), rear windscreen rubber is cracked (does not leak) and a couple of small pieces of bodywork but nothing very major at present that will stop you enjoying this car.
Chrome is good with just slight pitting on the rear brake light clusters and boot handle.
I have been honest in my description of the car as I cannot see the point of making it sound immaculate and wasting peoples' time, and mine, if they come to view and find these things. Having said this the car is very, very tidy, reliable, straight, honest and a useable classic that turns heads wherever you go.
