With the current owner since in April 2018. Before then it had been with the same couple for 17 years, during this time although the miles were low it was always kept on the road. The car came with a file including some service documents and most MOT's since the mid 90's, extra keys, and the original service and warranty book.
During my ownership a lot of work has been undertaken by FB specialists with most of the key mechanically components being replaced/overhauled so it drives very well.
The work includes the following;
A full engine rebuild using Mazda (Japan) parts; it included a brand-new rear rotary housing. The engine is Series 3 and has only 55,372 miles on the clock and it pulls well in all gears.
New clutch. The gear changes are now smooth and precise.
Reconditioned starter motor and new battery. Even when it hasn’t been used for a week or two it starts easily.
Full stainless-steel Exhaust system.
At some point in its life the car had a respray in the original colour and whilst there are a few cracks in the paint as you’ll see in the photos it really does shine following a tcut and polish. Rust is minimal for a car of its age and the underside is solid.
The black paint around the windscreen and windows has been repainted. The Sunroof still works and isn't rusty.
The interior is original and in very good condition; all the electrics work as does the Stereo tuner.
MOT’d until 8th August 2020
Recent research suggests there are now less than 30 road going Series 2 FBs in the UK. For a 38 year old car this is in great condition and has to be one of the better remaining early 1st Generation RX-7s in the UK.
All the expensive work has been done on the car so it should offer the new owner many years of happy motoring in an increasingly rare car.
