1972 CITROEN SM Maserati
MASERATI V6 Cylinder 2995cc. Automatic
Rare Right hand drive
During development Citroen code named their DS sports variant Project S and by 1968 they bought Maserati to harness their high performance engines and create a true GT. It combined Citroen sophisticated suspension system perfected on the DS model along with improvements to the already excellent brakes of the DS. They developed a very clever variable hydraulic steering system that was way ahead of it's time. The whole set up was highly acclaimed by journalists and commentators of the time.
This car was originally exported to the U.S. but then found its way to Australia. It was there that it was converted to Right Hand Drive and the European style lights were fitted. It is a well preserved example that is fascinating to drive. These cars are rare by any standards but extremely so in right hand drive form.
