1966 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE 2.GROUND UP RESTORATION For Sale
The ever popular Triumph Spitfire is a British 2 seater sports car, announced at the London Motor show in 1962. The car was based on a design produced for the Triumph Motor Company in 1957 by the Italian designer Michelotti. The car was largely based on the chassis of the popular Triumph Herald saloon. The Herald's running gear and Standard SC engine were also carried over. The Spitfire was manufactured at the Standard Triumph works at Canley, Coventry.
The particular example we offer here has just emerged from a 5 year ground up restoration by a fully trained automotive engineer. Suffice to say the finished article was featured in a 5 page article in the Practical Classics magazine, a copy of which is in the history file, together with a CD recording all aspects of the rebuild. Futhermore the car finished 2nd in a concourse competition at he NEC Classic car exhibition in 2018.
Part exchange welcome funds either way.
