A classic 1937 Rover 12 restored and rebuilt in 2006 when it was taken back down to the bare chassis (full photos of the restoration). The bodywork was repaired and the engine reconditioned. New carpeting, headlining, door cards and lovely new leather seating was completed. It’s painted black over royal blue and looks really good. The tyres and chrome work are excellent and the luvax system is still installed, as is the free wheel mechanism. It has a stainless steel exhaust fitted, which gives it a rather throaty roar. Being critical the fuel gauge is not working and the blue paintwork could probably do with a respray some time in the future but it’s too good for that at the moment. The boot tools are all there with the jacking system. I have owned the car for 2 years and have enjoyed using it but I am looking for a 1960s classic for a change and my dehumidified garage is already overloaded with other old vehicles. There are itemised bills of nearly £5000 for the parts for the rebuild. This does not include the cost of the labour and chroming work done.
The car is located just less than 3 miles from the Duxford Imperial War Museum at Junction 10 of the M11.
