| | | | Hofmann’s Lotus are delighted to offer this very rare and iconic Esprit V8 Turbo GT, this car started its life as one of the directors own cars at Lotus HQ in Hethel, as such its has some one off ‘special’ touches such as the blue crackle finish to the engine top (usually only found on the 50 Sport 350 cars) AP Racing 2 piece brakes and sports seats with coloured shells. It is also believed to have starred in Lara Croft’s Tomb Raider film from 2001, Judge John Deed and was used for the early Gran Turismo game production.
The car itself is a 2000 car registered on a “W plate” which has covered a mere 20,691 miles from new and is finished in Norfolk mustard with black half leather interior. options include AP Racinf lightweight 2 piece brakes, A/C, Bluetooth system and sports seats with yellow interior colour pack. Recently we have carried out the following works to this car – Major ‘C’ service including Cambelt change, 2x new/rebuilt turbo’s with all new oil lines etc, new alternator and all suspension dampers and springs replaced.
In 1996, Lotus launched the Esprit V8. The car came equipped with Lotus' own Type 918 V8 engine. The engine is an all-aluminium 90° DOHC 4 valves per cylinder with a flat-plane crankshaft and two Garrett AiResearch T25/60 turbochargers. The transaxle used was the same Renault unit as before but upgraded by Lotus racing driver Derek Bell with a much thicker single piece input shaft.
In 1998 the V8 range was split into SE and GT models. Both cars had revised interiors and similar performance to each other with the GT being slightly lighter.
As with all our cars here at Hofmann’s the car has undergone a comprehensive pre sales inspection by one of our Lotus experienced technicians.
For more information or to arrange a viewing please don’t hesitate to call one of the Sales team here at Hofmann’s.
All vehicles supplied through Hofmann’s have funding options available, are all warranted and part exchanges welcome.
