This stylish Lancia Flaminia is one of the early produced Touring Convertibles of which only 421 examples were constructed in 2.5 1C configuration.
For the state of the art Lancia Flaminia mechanical concept, Carrozzeria Touring of Milan produced a for its time rather daring ultra modern body design. I have only 1 word for it: CHIC!
In those years the short chassis Lancia Flaminia Touring, such as the GT Coupé and Convertible, was as expensive and exclusive as the Aston Martin DB4, but – arguably – better engineered.
What strikes me with this particular Flaminia Touring Convertible, is how nicely this Lancia was preserved during her entire life.
Sold new in California USA, many invoices illustrate convincingly that long term owner Mr. Lawrence Pike from LA took very well care of his Flaminia until in 1998 an enthousiast Dutch Flaminia afficinado buys the car from him, ships her to Holland and treats his new acquisition to a full restoration.
The fact that this Lancia Flaminia spent her entire life in California, made the restoration very straightforward, which enabled the Dutch new owner to register his Flaminia Convertible already in 2000.
Inspection of the dozens of restoration photographs show clearly:
- the very sound condition of this Lancia.
- the very detailed way in which this restoration was performed.
Even today, almost 20 years after this restoration, visitors of my classic car showroom are charmed by the very neat presentation this Lancia Flaminia still emanates.
The biggest satisfaction however comes from driving this Flaminia Convertible. The very advanced mechanical concept impresses, the attention to detail of the restorer pleases, the well tested feeling reassures.
Guaranteed classic convertible fun in great style for many more years to come!
Very rare Lancia Flaminia GT Touring 2.8 3 carbs, one of the 168 models built between 1963 and 1968.
Extraordinary unmolested conditions, always wonderfully taken care and maintained.
