Purchased over a year ago as an investment car to add value to. Original, warranted mileage through MOT certificates. Several cars currently on the market with twice the mileage on sale at £20-25,000.
I do not have the time or space anymore and several family cars are being placed up for sale. As these are generally sought after cars, if this does not sell it will be kept for a later date when I have the time and energy to restore to the potential it has.
Exterior- 7/10 some surface rust, the benefit being that nobody has tried to do a full restoration yet, allowing the next person to have the chance to progress as they see fit. It will need a new exhaust at some point.
Interior 8/10 - looks very nice indeed- i can see one minor crack on the dash.
Engine and transmission - 8/ 10 never given a problem. high torque rapid hatchback. Out of all my vehicles, this is the most raw driving experience. It is a difficult car to manoeuvre initially without power steering but once you are off - a dream to drive.
Equipment - Sunroof needs help and is jammed slightly
Wheels tyres- At some point new tyres would benefit I am sure but I have not tampered with anything yet.
History - There is a lot of paper work on MOT history for this car; however previous owners wife lost the paper work for service history. Thankfully there is warranted mileage documents and other traces where by you could speak to the garages in that area and possibly track service records- again I just do not have the time.
Latest work on the car: 30/08/18 - by peugeot specialist prior to me buying the car:
- supply and fit full cam belt and water pump. engine full service, oil, oil filter, air filter, fan belt, spark plugs, washer fluid.
- steam clean underside, engine bay, wheel arches
- detail engine bay, alloy parts, paint work
- valet inside
- outside detail 3 stage polish
- details plastics
- black bottom edge of sill and wax oil
- brake discs and pads cleaned of mist of rust from standing
- preparations for MOT
- removal of alarm system as causing intermittent starting problem
I am not a mechanic of automobiles but this car is a great investment potential car due to originality and the mileage. Paying £25grand for a car with 100k miles restored/unrestored made no sense to me as selling on in the future becomes difficult. But I bought it with full knowledge it needs work to make it grade A.
