1976 Honda civic 1500 mk1 very rare i owner 19100 m For Saleplease read the whole advert fully before calling over the past 25 years i have collected my own personal collection of rare and unusual classic cars ive collected over 50 cars and have been paying for a barn to keep them dry stored in ! i have always tried to locate cars based on their rarity provenance and have tried to concentrate on low mileage and low owner examples with the view to long term investment ownership and appreciation i had always intended to keep all my cars and carry out whatever work they need and enjoy them accordingly i am moving to a warmer climate next year and have had to accept the sad realisation that i cant take all of my collection with me i will offer my cars for sale at a fair and competitive market price, i am however not a desperate seller and wont accept silly low offers furthermore if i don't sell the cars i will carry out the work myself and keep them obviously this is a private sale and a classified advert so if your seriously interested please call me daft ebay questions and low ball offers wont be replied to ! ok ........ the car ......... this is without doubt one of the rarest of all mk1 1st generation honda civics this was the range topping civic 1500 4 door !! very few 1500's remain in existence with a little work this has the potential to be the best mk 1 civic 1500 left in the uk the 1500 is a 4 door saloon with a boot and has a longer wheelbase compared to the 1200 ( not the usual more commonplace 3 door 1200 hatch back) the 1500 model is distinguished by a longer front end than the lesser 1200 model and is fitted with a revised bonnet , longer front wings, a different style front grill and single piece grill mounted indicators and the rear is distinguished by a twin chrome hinged boot lid as apose to a hatch ( similar to the original civic 1200 2 door ) only sold in the uk from 1975-1977 not to be confused with the later 5 door 1200 cc model !!! the car has had 0 previous owners it has covered just over 19111 miles genuine miles !! i purchased the car from the original elderly owner 13 years ago when she was 87 years old and she had retired from driving !! she purchased it new from "crown" honda in bushey heath hertfordshire ( original bill of sale still in the car file £2350) registered 1st august 1976 now 44 years old reg no pbm 232r 1488 cc hondamatic finished in one of the best civic colours rare cirrus blue metallic ( available exclusively on the 1500 model) rare tan leatherette interior dealer fitted webasto sunroof with full vinyl roof ( never opened until i took these pictures and in perfect working condition) dealer fitted honda accessory clock laminated front screen dealer fitted fire extinguisher ( still fixed at the bottom of the drivers seat) sound proofing ( seen on underside of the bonnet) heated rear window being the ultra rare 1500 it was supplied by honda with a more comprehensive dash instrumentation which included a tachometer ( rev counter) separate fuel and temperature guages and a three spoke steering wheel the car has covered a mere 19111 miles in 44 years servicing details after the first service was carried out by "crown motors" the car was then only ever taken to r c james motor engineers and repairer in bushey heath hertfordshire who were a local specialist close to where she lived the are 19 invoices from them detailing work carried out from 1978 until 2006 mot history / certificates 27/07/1979 @ 4189 miles 25/07/1980 @ 6704 miles 31/07/1981 @ 7657 miles 31/07/1982 @ 8753 miles 30/07/1983 @ 9901 miles 26/07/1984 @ 10809 miles 29/07/1985 @ 12174 miles 23/07/1986 @ 12967 miles 28/07/1987 @ 13861 miles 01/08/1988 @ 14951 miles 02/08/1989 @ 15848 miles 01/08/1990 @ 16624 miles 01/08/1991 @ 17770 miles 31/07/1992 @ 18123 miles 26/07/1993 @ 18259 miles 27/07/1994 @ 18370 miles 04/08/1995 @ 18494 miles 06/08/1996 @ 18597 miles 07/08/1997 @ 18652 miles 24/07/1998 @ 18754 miles 06/08/1999 @ 18826 miles 04/08/2000 @ 18917 miles 06/08/2001 @ 18970 miles 06/08/2002 @ 19028 miles 04/08/2003 @ 19048 miles 27/08/2004 @ 19063 miles 31/08/2005 @ 19088 miles 06/09/2006 @ 19107 miles current mileage 19111 miles !! currently sorned and off road since i purchased the car in 2007 ! ( with a pile of certificates to confirm) this superb rare little civic comes with the following the original bill of sale invoice from "crown motors" honda dealer bushey herftfordshire showing the car plus extras £2350.96 the original blue honda vehicle service booklet confirming the vehicle details and sold to ( first owner) details the original honda civic 1200 / 1500 owners manual the original honda civic 1200 / 1500 sales brochure the original "crown motors" tax disc holder with a pile of old tax discs going back to 1980 the v5 c/o my name with no previous owners 3 sets of key with the original "crown' motors" key rings the original "crown motors" supplying dealer sticker in the rear window the original "crown motors" supplying dealer number plates mechanically the car is sound the battery has seen better days however with a set of jump leads the car fires into life immediately the engine and gearbox are fundamentally excellent but the car needs a good service, oil , filters and the timing belt, etc will need to be replaced due to time standing the brakes will no doubt need servicing and the exhaust is blowing !! ( there is a complete new bosal exhast system for a civic 1500 for sale on ebay for £60 so not expensive !! ) so other than basic service type requirements the mechanicals are what you would expect from a 19100 mile car the civic could have the minimum work carried out to get it back on the road again and used as a rolling restoration i feel however that such a rare heritage honda deserves to be refurbished like a new car as its unlikely there is another one like this left in the uk it does not need a full restoration, just some minor repairs prior to a quality re paint the roof/ vinyl roof and sunroof is simply perfect and has benefitted from being kept in a garage its whole life it is also mot and tax exempt the interior is in beautiful condition ( although would benefit from a deep clean) the seats are excellent with no rips or tears or wear on the drivers side bolster! Being a 1500 it has a different style of seating material to the 1200 model the doors still have the original platic protective covers on them as supplied from honda when new the headlining is excellent with no rips or tears the boot area is good , its so clear this has been properly loved and cherished from new the carpets have been covered from new by over mats the bodywork is generally incredible for a 44 year old classic japanese car and whilst it needs some cosmetic improvement / work the car is neither a full restoration nor a rotten basket case there are no obvious structural / rot issues but the paintwork is 44 years old and deserves to be improved the car warrants and deserves a high quality respray to bring the car back to a show condition the original elderly owner did confess to occasionally bumping the car which resulted in typical minor poor quality paint repairs both front wings are a slightly different colour however 2 brand new wings will be supplied with the car all 4 doors are in great condition inside and out both rear wheel arches have been subject to bumps on the side of her garage wall and have had poor diy hand repairs the bonnet is good and not showing any signs of rusting the boot lid is also excellent no rust or rot around the windscreen scuttle the inner wings look sound the underside of the car was rust proofed when new so floors , sills etc are still good the front valance has been repaired previously and will need to be sorted properly ( it does not need a new valance just the original one repaired ) please don,t bother coming to look at the car just to try and pick it to pieces as you will be just wasting your time. just study the pictures and read the advert as ive hidden nothing ! i will be adding a photo bucket link in the next few days to show an additional 80 pictures i really cant remember the last time i saw a mk1 civic 1500 for sale let alone one in this exceptional original condition with such a low mileage , lovely service history, every mot and no previous owners ! this is a true investment opportunity for the classic japanese honda collector try and find another like this ! with a few grand spend to make it perfect this is a £10000 / £12000 car, and if you think im talking rubbish i sold my 1977 civic 1200 hondamatic last year for £10500 so this far rarer 1500 is worth the money ! a really amazing investment opportunity and a superb piece of honda heritage a car for the honda classic enthusiast the car will need to be trailered away die to being in storage 13 years a phenomenaly rare civic for £4950.00 This advert has now been removed through sale or otherwise, please see the list below for similar live adverts |
