Originally a left hand drive export to Florida and imported back to UK in 1991. Converted to right hand drive in 1992. The car was originally Healey Blue over Ivory White and came with a factory hard top, wire wheels and overdrive. At some point in its life in the US it was resprayed and has had several elements of work carried out over the year but never had a full restoration. The car has a fast road look with side exhaust, wider wire wheels, sticky road tyres and bumpers removed. I have all the original bumpers, exhaust and wheels. I also have a folding top and tonneau cover. I have a full history file documenting every bit of work, with receipts, tax discs, mot certs and all the old log books. It has a Heritage cert and is confirmed as matching numbers.
When I bought the car 6 years ago it went straight to a well known 'Big Healey' mechanic and had carburettors and manifolds removed, core plugs removed from engine block and a full engine flush carried out. New sump and sump guard fitted, new clutch slave cylinder and new sports fuel pumps. The engine was reassembled and carbs tuned. Since then it has had a front disc brake conversion with all kit supplied by Denis Welch, wider Aston Martin refurbished wire wheels and Avon sticky rubber. The boot was refurbished with sound deadening and a 4 points harness was fitted to both front seats. An MGB expansion tank was installed along with an uprated 5 blade fan before it went on a road trip to Classic Le Mans in 2016. The car has never missed a beat is driven regularly. It could benefit from a light restoration as there are bubbles starting to show through in places and there is a small amount of damage to the near side rear wing at back of wheel. It's a really presentable car with room for improvement and gets some great compliments wherever it goes. A true rolling restoration.
The car is located in Wilmslow South Manchester.
