Welcome to the sale of my Aston Martin Vantage.

It's for sale as I am slimming my car collection down. I have been informed by my better half that 16 cars is a little excessive (apparently so), so the Aston is going, the Maserati, the Porsche, the Alpina...

This car in my mind has two special stand out points:
1) its the very rare manual, and the different between the auto's and the manuals shouldn't be underestimated
2) it's painted a one-off special order colour at the first owner's request necessitating Aston to designate the car with a brand new Aston Martin paint code !!

The car has a full service history (mix of Aston and specialists) and had a huge number of man hours poured into it at 81,000 miles when the owner (a Bentley specialist himself) decided to refresh areas of the car.

The car was most recently serviced about 1,000 miles ago.

Very recently I have also had the vacuum hoses replaced due to them being a little aged (£700+), and one of the front dampers had just started to knock ever so slightly so that's been attended to (£400).

So, 12 Aston Martin stamps and a further 10 services – 22 in total!!!

Mechanically the car is as fit as a fiddle and drives brilliantly. I also think it drives better for having a sensible balance of miles and usage.

The interior is in fabulous condition, smells of gloriously expensive leather still and hasn't been messed about with. The mix of Magnolia and Fern Green hides and carpets looks a million dollars too.

Externally the car presents very well indeed with a fabulous deep shine and lustre to the "Turkish Green" paintwork, which has been recently polished and protected under a couple of coats of good carnuba wax. There are some marks though here and there most notably to the front bumper (these mysteriously appeared when left at the garage for some work to be done but hey ho!). The wheels have a few kerb marks too, but that's an easy fix if you're bothered? So, whilst it isn't concours I would happily take it to a car show and park it up, and it's perfect for actually using and enjoying day to day without worrying it might collect a stone chip!!

Oh, I mentioned the manual thing earlier. The rare manual cars are the only versions of the Vantage that reach the cars full potential, with a near 190mph top speed. The automatics were materially slower with a top speed of 'just' 165mph. Whilst that's plenty enough for anyone it's nice to know the manual cars were never choked back by Aston Martin. 0-60 is just 4.9 seconds. Mpg is god knows, to bother calculating it is sort of missing the point.

With values of other manual V12 Aston's materially ahead of their automatic counterparts - such as the V12 Vantage S and DBS - the future is very rosey for manual versions of the V12 DB7 and will no doubt make a very shrewd investment.

That's enough from me, I hope the above assists to describe the car and I'd welcome contact from serious, pragmatic people.

Thanks for looking.
