This is a very rare opportunity to buy a 1968 Hillman Minx with only 25,000 miles on the clock. I believe this car is almost completely original and unmolested apart from a few recent minor modernizations. It has the most amazing patina.

I believe this model in general is very rare, only being produced between 1967 and 1970. Its officially called the New Minx, although classic car enthusiasts seem to unofficially refer to it as a Series 7 or a Hunter-Minx (since it replaced the series 6 and was similar to the Hunter range).

Whatever your favorite nomenclature is, this is a very VERY rare car and finding one this low mileage is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

This is a running driving car, you can get it and drive it away. Its registered with a modern V5c and taxed and insured and gets driven on the road. Its too old to need a MOT.

It used to belong to an elderly couple. It was the wife’s car and was very rarely driven hence the low mileage however was still maintained over the years hence a lot of it is in good condition. It was then forgotten and rediscovered to use in a film and some photoshoots and is now no longer required since it did its job.

Condition wise:
Mechanically everything seems decent. Starts first time and runs/drives. Its had a full service, distributor/ignition stuff, new battery, brake work and some other assorted work. It has been upgraded from a dynamo to an alternator (negative earth) since although its not original, alternators are just better. It also has a new modern fuel pump since original fuel pumps are damaged by the biofuel content all modern fuels have.

The exhaust is a replica of the original factory exhaust but made out of stainless steel, so it will last forever and never rust. It had to be custom made by a specialist stainless steel fabrication shop.

The original radio was AM only and there are almost no AM stations these days, so it was replaced with a “vintage look” stereo which has the chrome grill and the aesthetics to not look out of place in a classic car, but has all the modern features you might want including USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

Interior is generally in good shape for its age, the headliner has no rips and the dash is not cracked.

The underside/floor/chassis/sills/structural areas are very clean with no holes.

The body has the most amazing patina/paint fade. Ultimate natural rat look!

The body seems to generally be in decent shape with little rust to speak of with the exception of the front wings. The front wings are rusty and will require repairs or replacement should you want them to be rust-free, however this does not effect the usability of the car. Please do not come and see it and then complain that the front wings are rusty.

This car may polish up very well however due to the desirability and rarity of a naturally occurring patina/paint fade, it will not be touched at all. It can be up to the next owner what to do with it since a lot of people would prefer to keep it exactly as it is and see any attempt to clean it up as sacrilege.

So there we have it. This car is fairly self-explanatory and unfortunately nobody has time to take photos of every single part, regretfully you’re going to have to do this the old-fashioned way and come and see it in person.

Thanks for looking.
