|A stunning example of the beautiful Jaguar XJS.|
1992 mid-facelift version.
12 Months MOT
23 documented services + 2 that I've personally carried out.
This is a fantastic example which spent most of her life in Monaco, and was originally a Jaguar press car as shown in the owners handbook.
Bodywork is in fantastic condition.
Had the bulkhead, scuttle and windscreen surround completely removed, re-manufactured and refitted by XJ restorations in 2016.
XJ restorations also fitted an adjustable XJR sport kit - with anti roll bar, uprated suspension and everything was poly bushed at the same time.
It had the brakes serviced last year as one caliper was sticking, so this was replaced along with new discs and pads. (probably done 500 miles since)
New wheel bearing and hand brake calliper fitted for MOT.
Seats have been reupholstered, in high quality soft leather.
Aircon system fully replaced in 2016.
Recon Gearbox & new torque converter fitted at 90K
Immaculate new headlining.
All door locks and mechanisms silicone lubricated to ensure they don't fail or stick.
AJ6 4.0 engine, which starts perfectly every time, and runs as smooth as it should.
Engine bay is in v good condition.
X300 XJR wheels in fantastic condition.
Anti roll bar bushes just replaced.
New starter motor (previous had started grinding on startup)
New Blue tooth stereo and speakers. (although not connected to aerial)
Just given her a service, inc new plugs & coolant flush.
During the service I noticed that the temp sensor plug was slightly cracked and loose, and the wiring brittle, so I've spliced in new wiring and fitted a new connector plug and sensor whilst I was at it.
Replaced the 12V positive power connector through the bulkhead/inside of dash.
MOT tester noted light surface corrosion to underside, this has since been wirebrushed and wax oyled.
The test also has an advisory for an oil leak, this was a poorly fitted oil filter which has all since been replaced and cleaned.
There are bills from XJ restorations alone in excess of £10,000. Plus all the other work that has been done.
Issues: (and i'll list even the most minor)
- Seat belt clasp plastic missing (seat belts still fully work as they should)
- As the original wheels have been replaced, and there's a space saver, the boot boards don't stay in place due to the wheel fittings. All boards etc. present and in good condition though. No damp.
- One Jaguar wheel cap has fallen off somewhere, am trying to source a matching fourth
- Chrome plastic headlight surround has some rust.
- One small patch of surface rust at the rear underside, below the bumper. I've rubbed it down and treated it but to be perfect it needs some paintwork - though it's not noticeable unless you get underneath and look.
- Bonnet needs adjusting as it rumbles a bit when driving at slow speed.
- If I was keeping it i'd fit new tyres, but they weren't picked up on on the MOT so aren't bad, and tread is good.
I'm only considering selling as I've lost my storage and don't want her sitting outside for Winter, plus am moving to Scotland soon and that weather definitely won't be good for her outside.
