Not many of these beautiful little open-tops were produced, just 473 T5 models produced ( other roadsters were also built by Drauz, Original builder of the Convertible D ). Presented here is an excellent example of the D'leteren T5 " single-grille " Roadster from 1961.
We believe this car has had five private owners with a considerable paper history file spanning over 55 years. The first owner was a Mr. Gavlak of Santa Monica, California. According to the history file a well known California Porsche enthusiast, Mr. Jim Barrington owned the car for 10 years before he parted with it in February 2013. Invoices show that a considerable amount of money was spent but Mr. Barrington at that time which explains its exceptional mechanical condition. This Belgium roadster was supplied through Hoffman Motors Corp, New York, the east coast Porsche distributor shown on the factory Kardex. Also with the car is the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity which confirm this is a matching numbers roadster. We understand the car was fitted with a number of factory options which are all present today with the car. These includes front and rear fitted luggage, 8 day VDO clock, AM/FM Blaupunkt Radio and the factory mounting plate, deluxe horn ring and owners manual. The tools and jack are also present.
This roadster is in sorted mechanical order and drives exactly as it should. Finished in the colour combination of black with green leather interior and fitted with reclining seats, this 356B offers a great opportunity for exciting top-down motoring with the wind in your hair.
