This is a 1977 Honda XL250 K3 with a twist. Finished in a Rat Rod style with a minimalist look.
Enjoy the double takes as it goes down the road and expect people to be standing around it when you park it up. Please appreciate that this is not a show bike, it runs and rides and looks uniquely cool!
The SL prefix Motosport engine is strong having had the head ported to release a little more power. Modern exhaust valve seats fitted so that it will cope with modern fuel. A 32mm Mikuni carburetor gets more fuel in and a hand made stainless steel under slung exhaust opens up the breathing. This bike sounds great, more like an old British bike than a Honda.
Electronic ignition and a solid state regulator rectifier ensure a reliable spark and provides constant power to the led lights and electronic speedometer.
You will notice that switches have been kept to a minimum and bulky switch gear has been swapped out for a couple of micro switches on the handlebars and a battery isolation switch under the tank.
The front forks are from an early 90s XL250 which give better damping and the benefit of a disc brake.
Both wheels have been rebuilt on 18'' rims using stainless steel spokes.
A 3D Hop House 13 Larger logo completes the look.
This is a universal bike, as happy popping around the town/city as it is in the country. It was a joy to ride around the Welsh mountains.
Tax and MOT free.
There has been a lot of expense and work put into this machine. If you appreciate that, I will entertain sensible offers.
