LolaT642e Formula Ford built in 1983 as an update to the successful 640 FF of 1982. It has now just completed a ground up, last nut and bolt rebuild/restoration. It is ready for the new season.
Chassis shot blasted, rivet holes welded and powder coated, then repaneled with Dural.
All new suspension wishbones and rose joints, plus new front hubs and wheel bearings all way round
It has a 4 speed Mk 9 Hewland gearbox, with a condition report from PDS. The Engine freshly rebuilt by Paul Gardner Engine Services. Run time after dyno setup was 1 hour to run it in. The head is a Neil Bold machined item.
The tyres are ACB10s, all used with Weller wheels freshly powder coated.
A copy of the Lola specification sheets and component drawing come with the car
The front and rear body sections are original and looking inside they tell a story of use, the top, round front and seat are new sourced from TMW moulding ( holder of all Lola molds)
All new plumbing for brakes and water with a new bespoke radiator, and the addition of a removable steering wheel (for all BFBs)
The LolaT640 was the first FF to introduce aerodynamics hence the long narrow body free of clutter onboard suspension.
This superb car was fully restored to the highest standard in 2017 ready for the 2018 historic FF1600 championship. The car is very reliable completing that season with no mechanical failures. The.....
