The famous 1963 Ex John E Miles Turner Ford MK2 race car VUD 701 is being offered for sale. Developed from new to be the ultimate Modsports Racer. In 1964 this car won outright the Autosport National Championship winning 15 out of 17 races and two DNF's while leading, beating the numerous works team cars of the day. Ford Cosworth designed engines have been powering VUD 701 since birth and now uses the ultimate Cosworth Ford X/Flow 1824cc all steel short stroke screamer. Developing over 200 bhp on race fuel, this engine revs to well over 10k. Full aircraft hosing throughout.
Quaife box, AP clutch, 5/link Ford English with Quaife LSD and shafts.
The car weighs 485 kilos and with the driver seated has 50/50 weight distribution.
This famous race car holds numerous lap records around the country from 1964, with many of them set by its original owner drivers such as John E Miles, John Moore, Tony Dunderdale, Lee Barton, Mark Hales, Tony Broome and Chris Fulke-Greville. Being continuously developed to become a full spaceframed Modsports throughout the 60's,70's and 1980's.
Lap times are impressive with Brands Hatch Indy in 46.38s, 1/4 mile in 10.78s and 0-60 mph in 2.9s. Original drivers agree you race this like a National 250 Go-Kart, ten-tenths with total commitment.

There is a huge spares package, body mouldings, all steel race engine, gearboxes, suspension, brakes, clutches, alloys and tyre sets and its original 1963 Trailer.
