1984 Porsche 944 Track/Fast road For Sale

A nicely set up manual 944. Road legal and also ready to race or hillclimb. Sympathetically and professionally lightened and enhanced with strong power to weight. Superb, friendly feedback on the limit with rear drive chassis lowered on adjustable Koni shocks all round. Huge stopping power courtesy of 993 turbo drilled front discs and pads that never fade. Professionally built by Marque 21 race prep and restoration workshop. Completed 2015, less than 1500 miles since. 3.0L S2 engine upgrade 1988 76k miles (donor car 2.5 auto) fully reconditioned with manual gearbox. Original chassis has covered 133k miles and has no rust at all. Mechanically 100% reliable and in lovely condition. There’s some documented history and the donor car provided the perfect starting point. It was a carefully planned project resulting in a surprisingly quick and competitive car. Bodywork is very clean and tidy with some age related marks but has never been damaged/repaired. Sunroof mechanism removed and roof neatly sealed. Heater / radio removed (light weight heater could easily be installed) Build details: Plumbed in fire extinguisher driver and engine bay nozzles with internal and external pull. Electric cut off (internal kill switch with space on external bracket for additional external pull switch) 2 additional sets of wheels and tyres available separately - car comes on road tyres on 17” black cup 2 wheels 1st set wheels (Boxster twist) with part worn Nanking NS-2R semi slick tyres approx half work. 2nd set wheels (fitted currently) Cup 2’s with Nankang road tyres with 6mm tread. Sparco Pro 2000 seats perfect for hillclimb / sprints. Drivers seat will need updating for circuit racing regs eg Porsche Club Champs. Drivers harness 5 point (new and in date) with harness bar Passenger harness 4 point with harness bar Parts fitted: Passenger aluminium foot rest/box Drivers aluminium left foot rest and aluminium chequer-plate drivers footwell Light weight high capacity gel battery mounted behind passenger seat in lightweight drilled/padded anti vibe casing for improved weight distribution. All exposed internal wiring professionally fabric wrapped and secured. Lightweight door cards and pulls ECU mounted in passenger footwell for easy access Interior stripped and partially re-carpeted with lightweight carpet (keeps noise down for comfortable road use to and from events) Performance air filter / induction box Koni adjustable front and rear shocks (fronts are top adjustable) New transaxle speed sensor 1986 gearbox from 2.5 manual QK29016 (QK 5 speed made on 29.01.86) great ratios mated to 3L engine Full welded in roll cage MSA compliant Metal fuel tank sender cover (meets MSA regs) Recon airflow meter New engine mounts 2 x new track rod ends Recon oil cooler and pipes Replaced engine bay wiring loom New Crank shaft seal New steering rack gaiters New water pump gasket Engine and ECU from 944 S2 with 76k miles. New cam belt, balance belt and all associated rollers/guides replaced. (Less than 1500 covered since 2015 build) Listed engine power 210bhp and other than the enhanced race filter it’s standard and very strong. Starts on the button and runs sweetly. New front and rear engine seals New clutch Flywheel bolts Water hoses Goodrich stainless braided brake hoses 993 turbo front brake disks and pads. Incredible stopping power without any fade - gives tons of feel through the pedal - lovely to modulate on heel and toe downshifts. Custom mounts fitted to accommodate larger 993 turbo callipers. Zero visible wear on disks or pads since the car was built due to lack of use. Oil on dip stick is pale gold - Mobil1 always used 4 wheel alignment New handbrake shoes New ignition leads, plugs and distributor cap Further weight saving is easily possible with light weight body panels, replacement glass, front pop up headlight assembly delete.
