1985 Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Sovereign For Sale
With only just under 85K on the clock, believed by the owner to be genuine but unfortunately no service history as its been lost, just some old MOTs and the general condition of the interior to back this up, mechanically the engine gear box etc are strong with excellent oil pressure showing for the motor and smooth gear changes from the auto box. There is the typical “top shock mount” rattle but new ones are on their way so this along with any other mechanical maladies will be attended to for its MOT, again the fact they look to of never been changed backs up the low miles, just the heat has got to them and the rubber perished.
Unfortunately the same has to be said of the exterior paint. While looking to be virtually rust free the heat has got to its paint and while looking excellent from 5 feet away, once close you will see areas of crazing and micro blisters. A shame but with prices of good series threes now regularly over 10K some even 20, we have taken the decision to offer the car at what we feel is a reduced price to allow its next owner to either just get in and enjoy or to have a respray (by the time you do a bit here a bit there, what with the issue of colour matching an old metallic paint, we feel that a full paint would be the way to go).
Inside is very nice with all the Sovereign refinements in place and appearing to work apart from the electric part on the passenger front seat that controls the up/down motion but not been examined as to why yet?). But all four electric windows, electric mirrors and roof are working well. Wood work is very good, leather is great its just a lovely place to be. In the boot you will find its original tool kit, jack etc.
So there you are a lovely old Jag at an affordable price and one that once the MOT is done will give the next owner as much pleasure as the last.
