This superbly preserved Triumph TR4 Surrey-Top was supplied to a Mr. Clark by George Willis Motors of Ventura, California on the 4th January 1964. It was sold to its second and also last owner, Mr. Struth, on the 23rd November 1986, who kept the car for over 34 years. This car has all of its documentation from day one onwards. This even includes the original bill of sale in 1964, the bank transfers between the first and second owners! The last owner has also kept every registration card and all invoices from 1987 to 2019 amongst the true plethora of paperwork! Seldom have we seen a more completely documented example pass through our doors. This TR4 has never needed to be restored but has had excellent care lavished upon it, as one can see by just looking at the car and of course by the accompanying paperwork. The sound bodywork is nice and straight with excellent fittings. Although slightly dull, the paintwork partially has its original finish. The original motor bay and luggage compartment have been very neatly maintained. It has its original, ‘Signal Red’ finish pared with a black leather interior trim. The Surrey-Top has its original hard and soft-tops. This TR4 comes with chrome wire wheels, chrome luggage rack, a special exhaust system and Carello beams. In 2005 a new 5-speed gearbox was fitted. This Triumph has its original, matching numbers, engine that has had its numbers, accessories and colours authenticated by the Heritage Trust.
