This car was in the stondon museum which closed in 2015, the car was then sold and placed in a barn for restoration, where it sustained rear end damage. Not structural
the mg when sold had lost it no. Plate in the dvla system/sold? so a new registration number was obtained by using the chassis and engine no, once it was obtained it showed 3 former keeps since june 1957, then a heritage certificate was obtained, this shows the car was built on the 24-25 june 1957 and dispatched on the 28th june 1957 painted in birch grey over black with a maroon interior, the registration no on the car is the old registration number,
this car from the the outside looks complete except, i think there should be a chrome trim that runs along the roof gutter line (some have it and some don't). the drives door seems to be permanently locked i have set of keys that don't seem to work in it, so have removed the b pillar catch so that needs to be sort ( will try before it is sold)
the interior is in a bit of a mess the door cards are off etc so why we are in lock down will but it back together and will take further photos.
there a few thing missing main ones are the carburettors which i think i have obtained and hopefully will be here before for long? the engine turns freely but not managed to start without carbs.
mileage i will post during the week but regardless i could not guarantee
there is welding required to floors inner and outer sills and a complete respray etc. the chrome does not look to bad, then there is the boot which could be repaired or replaced, the floor in the boot will also need repairing.
so selling this as a full restoration project and 90% parts are there ( just to cover my self)
wll post more photos of the interior once it have put it together, must say that the headliner looks in good condition and possible will not need replacing.
if the full price is obtained i will include full secure undercover storage until the ban has been lifted. i could deliver if very very close to cromer norfolk.
the delivery car and delivery costs must be paid before i start off, email for a quote
please see our website for details on the cost of a full restoration here at - details above ( cars for sale)
this is ia an ideal car to start on, while in lock down???? no sensible offer refused, these cars in good condition are fetching between £12 - £15000
