Chassis number 32000037H was one of only 41 Series 2a Diesel Home Market RHD 7 seat Station Wagons of this designation made from 1965 to 1971 with the Maltese grille and headlamps in the wings.
Registered as XOM 354J on April 20th 1971 by Birmingham District Council it remained in Birmingham all its life until I brought it to Berkshire in 2017!
The original 2.25 diesel engine was worn out so it was replaced with a fully rebuilt correct 2.25 petrol engine over 20 years ago which is correctly shown on the V5 reg document.
Up to date V5 present along with MOT until 9th March 2021 even though it doesn't need one
Tax and MOT exempt.
Original chassis plate present and in correct place on the bulkhead
Many people claim that their Land Rover is a station Wagon but 99% are converted.
This must be one of the very last 2a's to be built.
They were extremely expensive when new hence few were sold as there was purchase tax on cars which this was classed as.
It has never been restored just very well maintained over the years.
The last owner had it for 20 years and there is a comprehensive maintenance log with all receipts over this period.
Only 25000 miles covered over the last 23 years with all MOTs to prove.
Thousands spent over the years with receipts.
New radiator fitted and points and condensor in 2017
Reconditioned gearbox fitted in 2018 and a new clutch as well.
Free wheeling Hubs
Overdrive fitted which is nice and quiet.
Full synchromesh gearbox which were only fitted to the last Station Wagons built to test them for the Series 3.
Chassis is solid having been waxoyled regularly.
Bulkhead good and solid, the footwells have been repaired and are solid.
The bodywork was repainted 3 years ago and looks very smart although has a few nicks and scuffs from use.
Just had a full exhaust system and new manifold.
Drives very well (for a Land Rover!) and is ready to use and enjoy.
This is great for taking the kids/dogs out and maybe a bit of logging?

This is certainly not your average Series III Land Rover, and will suit a Land Rover enthusiast looking for something seriously quick. The 1971 Landy has had an incredibly fit, and very quick V8 engine.....
Just arrived in with us this loverly Landrover 88 is in good usable condition. A vehicle that could be improved as a matter of course whilst being used. Viewing highly recommended more pictures available.....
