An extremely rare 1969 Moto Guzzi V750 Ambassador. This bike was one of the first 286 V750 Ambassadors built for the American market as requested by the then US distributor Berliner.
These first series 750 bikes had the squarer tank and right hand gear change of the earlier 700cc models. There is a description and a picture of an early advert on page 117 of Ian Falloon’s ‘Complete Book of Moto Guzzi’, recognised as the ‘bible’ for Moto Guzzis.
This bike was sympathetically restored by ‘Ghost Motorcycles’ in Long Island New York and was the personal bike of the now retired owner. Ghost Motorcycles were New York’s premier Ducati and Guzzi dealer in the 70’s.. the engine and gearbox was rebuilt and the frame and bodywork repainted.
The bike retains all it’s original parts including the original mufflers etc.
It rides beautifully, the engine and gearbox are really sweet.
I’ve only ever seen one other picture of one of these bikes, after a lot of googling! Given how few were made it is not surprising!
If you have all the other loop frame Guzzi’s then this is a must purchase!
