For those of you that follow our website, you probably know that we have owned quite a few Series 1 Humber Sceptres, which have become extremely popular and very sought-after. They very rarely come up for sale in this kind of condition with prices now increasing and one just recently selling for an incredible £16,000, and another one selling at £12,000. The Mark 1 Sceptre offered here is the most desirable combination in the whole range, Claret and Cream, with a cream interior piped in red and red-backed seats, which we think is a nice touch. It has a very attractive, clean and tidy cabin. The sporty dashboard and instrument cluster give the car a 1960s sports car feel. This Mark I's bodywork is in very good order, with rust-free wheel arches and very good paintwork. The excellent smooth-running 1600cc engine performs well and helps the car keep up with modern traffic without any difficulty.
Back in the 1960s when the Humber Sceptre Series I came onto the market, everybody who could afford one, wanted one. Today I think they're more in demand than ever, and very rarely come up for sale, and being the most popular colour combination, we honestly don't expect this one to hang around at all.
The car is now ready for viewing, so if you would like to arrange an appointment to view or book a test drive please get in touch at Craner Classic Cars, The Gate House, Nottingham.
