My red Excel SE is for sale. It has been in my keeping for 5 years, and has received a good deal of expensive maintenance in that time, including an extensive mechanical refurbishment and C service at a recognised specialist.
Being a very late model on a K plate, even later than Celebration models, it has all available extras, and the punched sand leather (not ruched) interior. I have added a good stainless exhaust and new tyres all round (205 size, 215 being very hard to get these days), on the standard Oz wheels.
Although on SORN for a while, it has been driven regularly on a private road to keep it in order, and kept indoors when not in use.
It would benefit from some more love than I have time to give. In 2 places on the roof, and on the rear spoiler, the lacquer needs attention; the seats would benefit from leather cleaner, the headlining needs replacement as do many. The front has a number of stone chips. Unexpectedly I have more time just now (as do we all), so I will give the car a good clean and polish in the next days.
Mileage covered in uncertain owing to a speedometer change - more than 100k is likely.
There are a large number of receipts (from many well-known names) for work carried out in my time and before, but not a complete history.
The price asked is low enough to allow for all needed work, and still to be a bargain when compared with other cars on offer.
I am in East Devon, close to the A30 at Honiton. A local recovery company is still in operation currently. If you need the car transported I could put you in touch.
Fully refurbished Calypso Red Lotus Excel with low mileage of 80000 miles.
The car has been restored over the past 6 years by a Lotus enthusiast well versed in mechanical repair and tuning. All work.....
This is a very nice example of a Lotus Excel having come from an enthusiast, this is a real drivers’ car. As Toyota became a major shareholder in Lotus during this period the car has a lot of Toyota.....
