1994 Italjet Pack 3 - Folding Scooter / Pit Bike For Sale

In the 1960s, Italjet produced a folding scooter called the Kit Kat. It was designed for pilots and sailors who found themselves at a destination without wheels. A couple of decades later, the Italian company modernised the idea with a scooter they called the Pack 2, subsequently updating that to produce the Pack 3.

Its clever design earned it a place as one of only 3 motorised two-wheelers that are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

This example is a Italjet Pack 3, an already rather rare thing, made even rarer by the fact it is in blue as opposed to the usual black. I was told that the Italjet formed part of a private collection of many rare scooters and pit bikes, and although it has not got a milometer, judging by the condition it has evidently done minimal mileage and been very well maintained. It is in excellent condition (see photos) with minimal age related marks.

The bike has a 49cc two-stroke engine which starts and runs well, and is quite nippy given its lightweight construction. It has a fully automatic gearbox (twist & go), the brakes work well and the handlebars and seat fold down making a very small package for transportation and storage. Indeed, it easily fits in a car boot.

The bike is road registered and also comes with the private registration 'M26 TMG'. I am currently waiting on delivery of a new front headlight which I have sourced in Italy and should be delivered in next week (afraid photos show it without the front headlight).

Given the current circumstances with Covid-19, I am happy to send over detailed photos of the bike, carry out 'socially distanced' viewings/ collection or help arrange delivery. The bike is located in Gloucestershire near Stow-on-the-Wold.

Fun, rare, collectable and practical... what's not to like!
