1974 jensen interceptor convertible. Series 3, 440ci chrysler v-8 engine. Automatic gearbox. Silver with red leather trim. Red soft top. Factory chrome wire wheels. Excellent, very original car stored for the past few years. Shows 27,195 miles.

offered for sale, from kurt tanner motorcars, is this rare and desirable jensen interceptor convertible. This car was recently purchased locally here in california where it had a few owners. There’s some accompanying paperwork showing it lived before here in the state of washington. It has been in inside storage for the last few years. It is currently running and driving well at this point, but could use an up to date mechanical servicing (please see video).
this car presents nicely as a very well preserved original with only one possible repaint in the car’s original and attractive color. Panel fit is excellent. The body and paint on the car is very good to excellent, save for a few stress cracks on the top of the fender corners, which could be repaired and then blended in… chrome and glasswork is excellent and it’s original quality triplex. It could use a few rubber moldings/strips replaced.
the car’s interior presents extremely original in it’s factory red leather hide. The door panels, dashboard, dash top pad, carpets all present very well and in beautiful condition for the car’s age. The original leather seats are showing some shrinking and typical age cracking. They would benefit from a re-trim in the car’s future.
mechanically, the engine starts quickly and easily with no smoke or noises. It settles into a very nice even idle with good oil pressure and running cool temperature wise. The transmission shifts smoothly through all of its gears, and the car is a very good easy, and comfortable driver out on the road. Brakes are a little on the soft side, and a service is recommended.
overall, a supremely attractive jensen interceptor in the desirable and final series 3 guise, this well-preserved original grand tourer is in very nice general condition all around. Mechanically it is very good, but could eventually benefit from some easy cosmetics. A lovely, comfortable, high speed convertible on tap for this spring/summer.
