|1966 Pontiac 2+2 Convertible – Matching numbers car – One of only 2298 produced|
Wonderful original matching-numbers 1966 Pontiac 2+2 Convertible with 85554 miles on the odometer and factory 6.9-liter V8 engine and 3-speed TH400 automatic transmission. The car has many desirable factory options and standard features, including, air conditioning (full functioning), power windows, power steering, power brakes, convertible power top, upgraded suspension, bucket seats, center console, tachometer, AM/FM radio, remote control outside mirror, eight-lug aluminum wheels, white-wall tires, safe-T-Track and a 3.23 rear differential.
The convertible top is in excellent condition, and everything is in working order except for the clock. The car is original and has only received an exterior paint job about 20 years ago. Other than the paint job, the car is unrestored and a true survivor—a very rare full-size performance convertible.
Originally from Texas, the car is in great mechanic and cosmetic condition and can be used as-is for many years to come. The vehicle is coming out of Danish ownership and has a Swedish title.
1966 was the only year it was a stand-alone model. A real collector car as only 2298 2+2 convertibles were built.

History of the 1965-1970 Pontiac Catalina:
Full-size Pontiacs, including the Pontiac Catalina, were restyled for 1965, with deep-set grilles, vertically stacked headlights, and a pronounced hood bulge. All engines now used big-valve heads from the 421-cid V-8, and there were 22 engine and transmission options. Eight-lug aluminum wheels were optional.
The real news for the Catalina, though, was the introduction of the 1965 Catalina 2+2 model, which was described as “the big brother of the toughest kid on the block” – the GTO. Its 421-cid V-8 developed 338 hp (a 376-hp Tri-Power setup was optional), and it was sold as a convertible and semi-fastback two-door hardtop. With Tri-Power, a Catalina 2+2 could do 0-60 in 7.2 seconds and record quarter-mile times of 15.5 seconds. For 1966, the Catalina 2+2 became a separate series.
