Our delightful A35 van was first registered on the 3rd of January 1962, Finished in BMC Grey with the 948cc A-Series engine and still today, the A35 remains in its original colour with the correct engine. Interestingly, this particular example is one of the very last made with the early bodystyle before Austin modified the design to remove the trafficator style indicators in February of 1962.

Over its 58 years on the road, the Austin has had a relatively low number of owners, and has had just 3 owners since 1992. We have an invoice showing the A35 changed hands in 1992 for just £2440 in Billericay, Essex. For the following 12 years the Austin was then driven and enjoyed as a member of A30-A35 owners club. During the 1990's the A35 Van was subject of a substantial amount of restoration work during this period bringing the A35 upto the stunning condition it is in today, This work was to include a full repaint and interior re-trim.

The A35 is as delightful to drive as it is to admire, the engine and gearbox both feel strong with a smooth power delivery from the 948cc engine while the gearbox changes up and down all four gears effortlessly. On the inside the trim is beautiful with lovely red leather and the optional extra rear bench seat adding seating for the whole family. The condition is top class, the level of detail impressive and the engine bay is outstanding.

Finding an Austin A35 in such lovely condition can be a challenge, finding one in the much rarer van bodystyle is even more difficult. According to current government records, A35s in the van body style make up less than three percent of A35s on UK roads today. This is a Austin A35 to be proud of, it is ideal for regular use, and is in the sort of condition where it may pick up prizes at local show level.
